Terms of Service
The short version: be honest, only list real tickets, and remember GoldTix connects students — it doesn't handle money, and it can't get your money back if a deal goes wrong.
Version 2026-08-08 · Effective August 8, 2026
1. What GoldTix is (and isn't)
GoldTix is a listing and discovery platform that helps Purdue students find other Purdue students who want to buy or sell student tickets. GoldTix does not sell tickets, hold tickets, process payments, or take fees of any kind.
All transactions — agreeing on a price, sending payment, and transferring the ticket — happen directly between the buyer and the seller, outside of GoldTix. We are not a party to any transaction, not an agent or broker for either side, and not an escrow service.
GoldTix is an independent, student-built project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Purdue University or Purdue Athletics.
2. Who can use GoldTix
GoldTix is for current Purdue students. Registration requires a valid @purdue.edu email address, which you must be able to verify.
You must be at least 18 years old to use GoldTix. If you are under 18, do not create an account.
You must provide accurate profile information, including your real name and a working phone number. Accounts with false identities may be removed.
Verifying a Purdue email confirms only that someone controls that address. It is not an identity check, a background check, or a guarantee of honesty.
3. Listing rules
You may only list tickets you actually own and are entitled to transfer.
You may have at most one active listing per game.
You agree to transfer the ticket promptly through the official Purdue Athletics app or portal once you have agreed to a sale and received payment.
Delete your listing or mark it sold once your ticket is no longer available. If a sale falls through, you may relist it.
You are responsible for complying with Purdue Athletics' own rules on student ticket transfers, and with any applicable law on ticket resale. If Purdue prohibits a transfer, these terms do not override that.
4. Conduct
No scamming, misrepresentation, or bait-and-switch pricing. Listing a ticket you don't have, taking payment without transferring, or reselling the same ticket twice will result in permanent removal from the platform.
Contact information revealed through GoldTix (names, emails, phone numbers) may only be used to coordinate ticket transactions. Harvesting contact info for any other purpose is prohibited.
No automated scraping, bulk collection of listings or user data, or attempts to circumvent access controls.
Be respectful. You're dealing with fellow students.
5. Transactions are at your own risk
You are dealing directly with another student, not with GoldTix. We do not verify that a seller holds a ticket, that a ticket is valid, that it will be transferred, or that anyone will pay. We do not screen users beyond requiring a Purdue email address.
Because GoldTix never touches money or tickets, we cannot reverse payments, recover tickets, restore access to a game, or mediate disputes. If you are scammed, GoldTix cannot make you whole and is not responsible for doing so.
Protect yourself: confirm the ticket exists in the official Purdue Athletics app before paying, prefer payment methods that offer buyer protection, be cautious with anyone who insists on payment well before transfer, and keep a record of your conversation.
Market price information is shown as-is, without any guarantee of accuracy. Prices reflect what other students listed — they are not appraisals, valuations, or advice.
6. Reporting scams and misconduct
If someone scams you, misrepresents a ticket, or behaves abusively, report them using the Report option on their listing. Reports are reviewed, and repeat offenders are removed. A listing reported independently by several students is hidden automatically pending review.
Reporting to GoldTix is not a substitute for contacting the authorities. If you have lost money, contact the Purdue University Police Department and your payment provider. We will cooperate with legitimate requests from law enforcement and the University.
Do not misuse reporting. Filing false reports to suppress a competing listing is itself a violation and may result in removal.
We are not obligated to investigate, act on any particular report, or tell you the outcome.
7. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity on your account.
We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion, to keep the marketplace safe.
You can stop using GoldTix at any time. Delete your active listings if you no longer plan to sell.
8. Your information
To make the marketplace work, your name and contact details are shown to signed-in Purdue students while you have an active listing. That is the entire point of the platform: buyers need a way to reach you. Do not list a ticket if you are not comfortable with that.
When you have no active listing, your profile is not readable by other users.
We store what you provide (name, email, phone, optional social handles) and your listing activity. We do not sell your information.
Contact us to have your account and data removed.
9. Assumption of risk and release
You understand that meeting and transacting with strangers carries risk, including the risk of fraud, non-delivery, invalid tickets, and loss of money, and you accept that risk knowingly.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release GoldTix and its creators from any claims, demands, or damages arising out of a dispute between you and another user. Your dispute is with that person, not with us.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
GoldTix is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that listings are accurate or genuine, or that schedule information is correct or current. Game dates and times come from published sources and can change.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GoldTix and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost money, lost tickets, missed games, or lost opportunities, arising from your use of the platform or from the actions of other users.
GoldTix charges no fees and earns no revenue from your transactions. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to GoldTix is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GoldTix and its creators from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of the platform, your listings, your transactions with other users, or your violation of these terms or of any law.
13. Trademarks and photography
Purdue University, Purdue Athletics, and opposing schools own their own names, logos, and marks. GoldTix refers to team names only to identify which game a ticket is for. We claim no affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement.
Photographs on game pages are used under Creative Commons licences or are in the public domain, and are credited where they appear.
If you own a mark or image used here and object to its use, contact us and we will remove it.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Any dispute between you and GoldTix will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
15. Changes
These terms may be updated as GoldTix evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date, and you may be asked to accept them again. Continuing to use GoldTix after a change means you accept the updated terms.
